We, the human species, have arrived at a moment of fateful decision. It is unprecedented and in some ways even laughable that we could actually make a conscious choice as a species. But that is nevertheless the challenge because our home, Earth, is in danger. What is at risk of being destroyed is of course not the planet itself, but the conditions that make it hospitable for human beings. Scientists have now for several years warned that we are moving dangerously close to several so-called tipping points that within less than ten years could make it impossible to avoid irreparable damage to the Planets habitability for human civilization unless we act quickly.
